The Basselier is an intentional cross, not a kennel-club breed with a single written standard. Two dogs from the same pairing can differ in size, coat, and temperament, because each puppy inherits a different mix of traits from the contributing breeds.

The Basselier mixes a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a Basset Hound. Size is small to medium. Ears are long and coated. The face may keep the Cavalier's gentle expression on a longer, heavier body.
This is a house companion with a nose. The Cavalier side wants to be with people; the Basset side wants to follow a trail. Ears need cleaning. The coat is easy if it stays short, and needs combing if the Cavalier feathering comes through.
