The Norwich Terrier is a small, square, drop-eared-no: prick-eared working terrier with a harsh wiry coat and a keen expression. The ears are erect; the related Norfolk Terrier has dropped ears.

A small prick-eared earth dog who can share an apartment if walked and given a job; a wiry coat and a ready voice at the door.

The Norwich Terrier is an English earth and vermin dog from East Anglia. It is a separate breed from the drop-eared Norfolk Terrier. The AKC and UKC both place it in the Terrier Group when recognized.

Temperament

Norwich Terriers are typically outgoing, game, and affectionate with their household. They will hunt vermin if given the chance and may bark to announce visitors.

Training

They learn quickly and will take advantage of soft rules. Keep sessions short.

Care and grooming

Brush weekly and strip or trim the harsh coat a few times a year.

Health

Norwich Terriers may develop upper-airway syndrome and patellar luxation. Keep them lean.
